WILMINGTON — Congressman John Carney is partnering with the Concord Coalition, a national, non-partisan organization advocating for responsible fiscal policy, to host a series of interactive public meetings focused on priorities and challenges within the federal budget.
The meetings will be held on Thursday, January 31st in Dover and Stanton. The Dover meeting will be at Wesley College’s H.B. DuPont College Center from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. The Stanton meeting will be at the Delaware Tech Stanton Campus Conference Center from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Participants in these meetings will begin by reviewing the spending and priorities in the current federal budget. Then, working in small groups of five to ten, those in attendance will be given the opportunity to draft their own budget proposal which reflects their ideas and priorities for federal spending. The groups will then come back together to discuss the proposals and their decision-making process.
The town hall meetings are free and open to the public, however, seating is limited. Those who wish to attend the meetings should RSVP by calling Congressman Carney’s office at (302) 691-7333 or (877) 899-7872.
